Acceptable Use Policy
Purpose & Professional Integrity
This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) establishes the conduct, verification standards, and security requirements expected from all users interacting with Edgewater Associates, LLC ("Edgewater"), our web platform at edgewaterassociatesllc.com, our Cost-of-Vacancy diagnostic engine, and our confidential client and candidate intake portals.
Philanthropic leadership and university advancement require unmatched personal integrity. We require that all board members, institutional search leaders, and candidate executives utilize our services with honesty, discretion, and mutual respect.
Prohibited Activities
When utilizing our website, calculators, intake desks, or digital communication channels, you agree that you shall not:
- Submit Fabricated or Inaccurate Records: Provide fraudulent resumes, falsified major gift closure amounts, misrepresented capital campaign leadership credentials, or unauthorized contact references.
- Misappropriate Proprietary Donor Data: Upload or transmit confidential donor records, proprietary foundation databases, or contact lists that belong exclusively to current or former employers without authorized legal rights.
- Attempt Security Exploits or Scraping: Execute automated crawlers, scrapers, bot networks, SQL injection payloads, or vulnerability probes against our web platform, forms, or API endpoints.
- Transmit Unsolicited Pitches (Spam): Utilize our confidential candidate and client intake channels to transmit unsolicited vendor marketing pitches, commercial recruiting software solicitations, or phishing scams.
- Circumvent Professional Confidentiality: Share, forward, screenshot, or distribute confidential candidate profiles or board search committee deliberations beyond authorized decision-makers.
Candidate Dossier Integrity & Verification Protocol
To protect our client institutions, Edgewater Associates operates a rigorous portfolio verification framework:
- Edgewater Associates conducts comprehensive professional reference checks for all candidates presented; however, the firm does not provide independent forensic audits or verification of reported historical gift portfolios.
- Submitting intentionally falsified fundraising accomplishments will result in immediate disqualification from all active and future Edgewater searches.
Infrastructure Monitoring & SOC 2 Type II Safeguards
Our web platform and digital forms are protected by continuous security telemetry through the Developum AI Engine platform:
- Continuous Threat Telemetry: All intake form transmissions, IP headers, and payload formats are monitored under active SOC 2 Type II compliance controls to prevent malicious intrusion.
- Immediate Enforcement: Any attempts to flood our booking calendar, tamper with calculator parameters, or breach candidate databases will result in immediate IP blacklisting and potential legal reporting to local authorities.
